Cooper is 6 months old!
Hi Charl and Team,
Just checking in to say hi and let you know Cooper lights up our lives every day. He's a social butterfly and is quite a hit in Orange County. Regardless of where we go, everyone stops in their tracks to tell us what an adorable dog he is. I joke with Brad that I need to get dressed up when I take him out because he's a show stopper. Complete strangers want to take pictures with him and he's so sweet and lovable!
Our nieces from Texas came to visit and all they did was fight over Cooper. Believe it or not...They have three labradoodles at home!
Thank you again for finding the perfect dog for Brad and our entire family.
Cheers and have a great summer!
Brad and Cindy
Hi Charl, I wanted to send you this photo of Teddy. Nancy took it when he was young. I have since had it painted as a portrait. Just love it. Thought you would like it.
Budge and Ted
Budge is 37 pounds and Ted is 68 pounds. They are the best buddies in the world. Thanks for breeding such great puppies.
Payton is 3
Hi Charl and Family,
Can't help ourselves but to send you a pic-still so happy to have Payton in our lives. He's such a happy, good and well trained sweetie.
Hope you and yours are well and that all is good with your extended canine family.
Silvia and Randy
Hi Charl, I hope this note finds you and your team doing well. Thanks to you, the Walters' team is doing great! I'm not sure words can express how Cooper has changed our lives, specifically Brad's. The love, companionship and joy Copper brings to us daily is priceless.
As you know, Cooper will ultimately be trained as a service dog for Brad, so finding a pup with the perfect personality, disposition and attitude was a tall order. It doesn't seem that long ago that we drove to your location hoping and praying we would drive home having identified the perfect companion for Brad. You introduced us to two puppies that you felt would meet Brad's needs and there was an immediate connection to "Puppy B." He was so sweet, so loving and you were so patient as we asked what I'm sure seemed like 1,000 questions. It's obvious your years of experience breeding, living with and loving labradoodles benefits anyone looking for a pet that will forever enhance their lives.
Since Cooper landed with Brad, he's been a rock star! We get stopped everywhere we go with everyone wanting to pet him and wanting to know where we got him. Cooper just completed 7 weeks of Puppy Kindergarten and I can say without a doubt he was the teachers pet and a class favorite. He is sociable, playful, lovable, friendly, confident and a very mellow puppy. You expressed the importance of personality with a service dog and I'm confident Cooper will provide the perfect balance of love and support to Brad over the years.
Thankfully he is finally "legal," and went on his first official walk yesterday with Brad. Cooper's expression when his feet the ground is to be treasured. He seemed excited yet nervous and was consistently looking up to Brad for confirmation that yes he can walk and no longer needs to sit in a basket.
Thanks to your initial training he enjoys his crate and has done a really good job figuring out the right place for his "stuff." He's now sleeping through the night and I'm sure the ability to walk and run and play outside of Brad's home will provide the ultimate level of freedom that all pups crave.
I'm not sure saying thank you for Cooper is enough, but I'm hopeful you know how much we appreciate you and Shadow Mountain Labradoodles.
With love and endless thanks,
Brad and Cindy Walters
A Girl Named Hannah - Day 2
Well, so far, so good. When we left Shadow Mountain yesterday we rode in a car! Dad (that's what I call him now) sat in back with me to make it cozy and Mom drove v-e-r-y c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y so I wouldn't be scared. I wasn't . . . but I was sure curious.
When we got home I went right to my back yard; yep, it's mine. I sniffed everything and found out it's been a very happy place with lots of dog love in the past. Then I peed where they wanted me to and they made a big deal out of it; whatever. And get this: I can hop up on the outdoor couch any time I want and see for miles and miles and miles; plus, Mom or Dad sits next to me and I like that.
I was kinda pooped last night so I went into my crate as soon as they moved it into the master bedroom (can you believe it, the master!?) and slept all night except for a little hoof chewing around 3:30AM. I think that woke Dad up 'cause I heard him leave the room but he wasn't mad at me this morning. I went out back as soon as I woke up and peed in the right place again; boy, they go wild about that. They're also happy 'cause I ate a big breakfast. Last night I was just too excited to eat.
So, don't worry about me. I think this is gonna be a great gig.
Just wanted to write to let you know what incredible dog Shiloh is. He's now nine months old and very smart, affectionate and easily trained. We adore him and are thrilled that we found him at Shadow Mountain.
P.S. Regards to Tana who was very helpful.

Good Morning Charl,
We had a wonderful night with the puppy. We've named her Murphy. Her first name is to honor my husband, Michael, who passed away on June 1st of this year after an 8-month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Michael and I have always said that if we ever got a dog we would name it Murphy. I've always threatened him that it would be a female still leaving him outnumbered as the only male in the house.:) Luca, my youngest, decided that her middle name should be Maximus based on what I said her final weight could be. I'm so happy to have this dream come true for my girls, Kaia and Luca. She sat nicely in the backseat with my girls on our way home from picking her up, and she stole our hearts the minute we saw her.
Working with you has been a true pleasure. I was reassured by the time and effort you took to ensure that Murphy would be well-cared for and that we would all be a good fit as a family. I look forward to watching her grow and develop along with my girls. She will be a huge comfort to our family, especially to Luca who has been seeking the comfort of our neighborhood dogs since the loss of her father. Thank you again.
Very best regards,
I just wanted to share with you photos of Beau, who just celebrated his first birthday! You chose the perfect puppy temperament for us, between him and his brother last October. He has been pure joy for our family! Thanks again.
Just thought I'd say Hi. Zoey is 35 pounds now, and has been for the past year. She is truly a wonderful addition to the family. Hope you and your family are well. Zoey is the best dog I've ever had. One day, in a few years, we will want another dog from Shadow Mountain Labradoodles!
Dear Charl, how can we ever thank you for finding the perfect dog for us? We wanted a loving, loyal, smart, intuitive companion for our 12 year old only child, and Cody is all of that and more . He is funny, caring, well behaved and extremely intelligent and we are loving every moment with him! He is also the most handsome boy and we love him as much as he loves us! He has completed our family unit!
Cody is a therapy quality dog, superb with all types of kids, adults and other dogs... and we are so grateful that he is our special puppy! Cody knows exactly what we humans need at all times; he is extremely therapeutic and intuitive. What a gift!
Thought you might like to see how big Kona is getting! He has gained almost 5 pounds!! He is such a good boy! We couldn't be happier!!
Have a great weekend!
Bear will be 9 months tomorrow. He is 45 pounds. He continues to be the center of our family and he is especially close with Cole. Bear brings so much joy to our family. We love him! Thank you for picking us to be his family. Have a great weekend.

All the best,
Payton is 2 years old
Hi, I know you have innumerable pups out in the world, but I thought a hello from us and Payton might provide some cheer. He's wonderful and such a good boy.... The best ever and we've loved all of our dogs (Airedales) immensely. He does smile like his daddy,Debonaire.
Miley & CB True Love!
Happy Birthday Ruby!
Ruby is 1 !! We had a big birthday bash this weekend with Zoey, your puppy that Bill and Hart adopted. Ruby had a great time showing Zoey her turf, and later devoured a pumpkin birthday cake from Bones and Scones.
Now about our life with Ruby: She's our number one love bug who's primary mission in life is to give love and be loved. Oh, and play!! She is weighing in at 25 pounds and is very active and healthy. Her coat seems to be becoming lighter. Every day she gets compliments on her coat and what a beautiful dog she is. She's never met a tennis ball or sock she didn't love and is always ready for a game of fetch. She has forced an extension of our toy budget. The life of a soft toy is measured in minutes. It has been a challenge to find sturdy toys that are long lasting, but we have succeeded in finding a few favorites. She is a pro on the "expert" dog puzzles, and has mastered them in minutes. The Fed Ex lady rings the bell and waits whether needed or not, because she says she needs her Ruby fix.
Wanted to catch you up on Ruby's first year. She has been a Joy in our life. We think of you as we take a monthly drive to La Jolla and we all give you a wave as we go by your street. Please thank Brandy again for us. Ruby is a great loose leash walker. The love shown her at Shadow Mountain is very evident in Ruby, an extraordinarily loving, confident companion.
If you are ever in the area, please feel free to drop by, we would all love to see you.
We are definitely in love with our puppy, Bailey!
Bear is such a love! Thank you.
I Love Watching The Golfers!

Want to let you know Jaxson just passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test! We are very proud of him especially since he is only 13 months old! I hope to get him through his pet therapy evaluation soon.
Thank you again for raising such wonderful puppies and bringing Jaxson into our life. He is truly a joy and we love him.
Take care and stay in touch.
Beau has had his first vet visit and completed his vaccinations. He is in complete great health. He is in his crate through the night and completely potty trained. We couldn't wish for a more amazing sweet puppy.
Here is my son's photo with Beau on his 10th birthday. I would be happy to recommend you to all my friends.
We can not tell you enough how adopting TUCKER was the best decision.
When I first spoke to you, you talked about how you breed for temperament. This little sweetheart is so mellow and sweet. He is a love bug. WE fell in love the first day.
All of this is because he came from a very loving and caring breeder. You can tell he has been loved and cared for in your home. We wanted to find a breeder that was more concerned with temperament and we found one! You set him home with all the skills to continue your good training. He has been loved and feels secure. We are so lucky to find you and will get another one in a year from Shadow Mountain .
We can not say enough about the integrity of your program. I have purchased many dogs in my past and never have I experienced the concern from the breeders. Most are too interested in the money and could care less about the future of the dog. YOU are a gem in the Australian Labradoodle world.
Thank you so much,
Pete and Jiffy

I wanted to let you know that our puppy is doing great, he is healthy, happy and growing like a weed !!! (pictures to follow ) We are so happy to have him. When I think back of all the research the hours, days, weeks, and months of searching for the right fit for us, after talking to many breeders, owners, and advice of many we were referred to you and "Shadow Mountain Australian Labradoodles" !!!!! We were told that you were very knowledgeable and that the quality and integrity of your breed was to be desired.
When I went to your web site to see what was going on there I liked what I learned, I liked what I heard, and absolutely LOVED your dogs, it wasn't long before I found , Shadow Mountain, The Gallant " THOR" , when I saw that there were puppies available from his litter I finally had found the puppy that I wanted.
You can imagine how disappointed I was when I found out that Shadow Mountain was in Southern California and I live in South Florida I thought that this could never work, it was just to far away, how could this happen. But I really wanted this puppy so I decided to give you a call.
Right from the the beginning I realized how much you cared about your Labradoodles , they were your family, that breeding these dogs was a labor of love for you. After a our first conversation I knew that this Puppy was for me but I still didn't know how this was going to happen.
When we talked again and we decided that we wanted this puppy be MY PUPPY is when you told me that YOU were going to personally deliver the puppy to me in South Florida, I was ecstatic, the fee for this was well worth it and your concern for the health and welfare of the puppy was very impressive. The delivery went perfect and meeting you in person was special, and the care of the puppy exceptional.
I can truly say that anyone looking for excellent personal service, knowledge, and Integrity of person and business should give you a call. It doesn't matter where you live you can have the puppy you want..
Thanks again, and we will be in touch,
Dan & Patty
Wanted to give you an update on our Axl boy. He is an amazing puppy! Sleeps through the night. He's over 10lbs now so he's doubled in weight! He loves the kids and they just adore him! We started training and the trainer keeps saying how smart he is and has to move ahead way faster than she planned. We just can't thank you enough!
Here he is a few days ago at 3 months old.
There's our boy. Living the dream.
I wanted to get back to you today about our Axl boy. In my opinion, he has adjusted really well. He is so, so loved!!!

Happy Easter from Payton
Hello Charl and family,
Payton is such a good and handsome boy. We just finished our third training class.(advanced)
He also accompanied us to San Francisco last weekend to visit our son and his German shepherd. Our boy (canine) was super well behaved in the hotel room. Of course he had his collapsible crate to sleep in! The two dogs reunited and running on the beach was beyond precious.
Payton is now 11 months old - so my guess is that he won't get any bigger. I think he takes after his dad, Debonair and not mom. Last time I checked his weight a couple of weeks ago he was 37 pounds.
I think he's perfect and he's loved madly by us all.
Hope life is good for you,
Silvia and Randy Schwindt
Zoe's ruff life...
Zoe's a big beautiful girl, almost 15 pounds now. She comfortably sleeps through the night in her own crate and each morning enjoys some snuggle time in bed with mom and dad. We adore her, she is an absolute JOY!!!
I want to express my sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to Charl and Shadow Mountain Labradoodles. She is head and shoulders above the pack when it comes to a quality breeder. She is the most through and detailed oriented breeder I have ever met. Everything about the experience is second to none. Do yourself a favor and visit Charl and Shadow Mountain Labradoodles if you are considering a new puppy.
She provides a comprehensive set of instructions, a sleeping / nap crate, a gorgeous blanket, a leash and collar set, a hoof to chew, a scented teddy bear, the same food they have been eating and so much more so that you are ready immediately to care for your new puppy. All of the paperwork re the medical history, the microchip (so it can be transferred) all the products to use, a detailed "to-do" list, extensive written puppy care recommendations etc… are all handed to you in a neat package. She sits down with you and does an extensive puppy orientation with you so that you are ready for the transition. Her facilities are gorgeous and her and her daughter treated me like I was their only customer. Whenever I text Charl with a question, she responds promptly and is so helpful. She genuinely cares and is so knowledgeable.
I adopted a cream standard size female labradoodle and I named her Sophie. She came pre-trained to sleep through the night in her plastic crate at 3 months old. They had also been working with her on sit, come and fetch. Sophie has been a pure delight the first couple days. I have had her for 5 days now. It is definitely work to care for and transition a puppy, but Sophie has been so wonderful. On the first day I had her, she made the connection by the end of the day to poop outside, And by the third day I had her, she made the connection to pee pee outside. Today at day 5, this 3 month old love has not had a single accident in the house all day.
As smart as she is, she is even more loving and affectionate. Sophie had huge shoes to fill. My beloved 2 yr 8 month old male standard poodle Rex was tragically killed just one week ago when a leash malfunctioned and detached and he was hit by a car. The void was so huge. I was in a very, very bad way. The boarder and trainer for my standard poodle that was killed in this tragic accident, who knew me and Rex well, told me I just had to immediately go to Shadow Mountain Labradoodles and see this sweet girl. She knew about the breeder and her dogs, because she trains and boards some of her other puppies, and she knew a puppy from there would be perfect and is exactly what I needed. Well she was right. Sophie has won her place in my heart and has taken me from the depths of grief to being able to be happy again. Sophie actually licked the tears from my eyes when I was telling Charl about Rex. And right now, she is snuggled into me as I am typing this email. She is just amazing! As much as I could not picture my life without Rex, I now could not picture my life without Sophie. Nobody will ever replace Rex. I had the best boy in the world and now I have the best girl in the world. I wish I had them both now, but at least I have Sophie. She is so incredible and we are going to have such a fun and happy life together. I can't wait!
Thanks Charl for bringing Sophie into my life! She is absolutely amazing!
Buddha's Puppy Class Graduation!!!
Merry Christmas from Zoey
I am so impressed with 'Dixie" Silva. And, your crate training prgram is paying off so much. She rides in the car in her crate like a little champ and is so comfortable there she takes her time getting out in the morning.
I knew I wanted to get my clients to you when I met Godiva and then was even more certain when I met Dixie.
Now, I want people who think they want just about any other breed of dog, to get one from you.
In gratitude and future wonderful owners sent to you.

Hope all is well. I have been meaning to send you a photo of Foxy, and have finally attached it. She continues to be an amazing dog and is just wonderful with Cole. We had twins 7 weeks ago and she has just been amazing with them. Thank you again and will send another pic down the road. This one is from this last summer.

Wanted to let you know Beacon is doing great! He is a joy and a such a wonderful fun boy! Here is a picture of him and his best friend Duke.
Hi Charl!! We are having the best time with Charlie. He is an amazing fit for our starter family. Thank you for sending us the perfect puppy.
Benji at 7-1/2 months
Isn't he beautiful? Aside from the fact that you can't see Benji's eyes, this photo captures his spirit -- playful royalty. As I tell him every night when I put him to bed, he is the very best, smartest, and most beautiful dog in the entire world. He is friendly with everyone who comes to the house, and expects to be petted by everyone we pass on the street when walking. He loves visiting other dogs. He is so smart -- he knows exactly how to communicate what he wants (for example, by bumping into me, then walking to the closet where he knows we keep the bully sticks he loves to chew on in the evenings, then looking longingly at the closed closet door until I get him what he wants).
Please tell Debonaire and Kala how proud they should be of their son!
Miriam and Chuck
These are photos of 5 month old Schoggi after the groomers. She is literally being picked up at the groomers, and in the car with her baby from you. She still sleeps with it. She now weighs 22 lbs., house trained, walks loose leash, fetches the ball, sits, lays down and kinda stays. She even comes when she wants to.
Benji - Absolutely the best and most beautiful dog in the world; we adore him
As I tell him (Benji) every night when I put him to bed, he is the smartest, most beautiful and best dog in the entire world. He licks my face, proving he clearly understands me.
Ned is gorgeous!
We at Shadow Mountain are so proud of Zoey and Alex!
Happy 1st birthday Hudson!
Aussie is doing so well..
2 pics attached.
Hope your well.
Charl, It has been two weeks since we got Louie from you at Shadow Mountain. He is such a wonderful puppy and has very nicely adjusted to the family.
Since we are from the bay area we were looking around here to adopt a Labradoodle. We contacted you through a recommendation from Goldengate Labradoodles.
It has only been an increasingly positive experience working with you to get Louie.
Thanks a lot for being flexible and accommodating to let us visit you on a Sunday to take a look at the puppies. We were very impressed with how clean your facility was and how well the puppies were cared for.
Thanks again for making the drive to the Ontario airport in the stormy weather to drop Louie off. You have always been quick to respond to our questions via phone or email and we were really impressed with the amount of work that had gone into crate training with Louie before you sent him with us.
The chart with the schedule that you sent with us really helped in getting Louie adjusted to his new home. He is such an active puppy and loves to run around with the kids in the back yard and is growing up to be a very well behaved puppy. He is incredibly smart and within 2 weeks of training, he is now 12 weeks old, he understands basic commands like, sit, down, stay and come (see attached video :) ).
We are still following your advice on crate training, an the other day he actually went to the door to our back yard and asked to be let out to do his business!
We love the little guy and we are very happy with our decision to get him from Shadowmountain. Thanks a lot Charl!
Hello dear Charl, Hope all is well! I haven't been in touch since everything is great. Here is a little update from us.
Jimi has adjusted well and became an integral part of our family. He is so much fun, and also the most chilled and calm dog I ever had. He is gentle with the girls and loves to play with them.
I've been carrying him around to introduce him to the world and he's been also riding in the car with me. Those trips became so exciting for him and surely make him less afraid. He still has another 5 weeks until he can freely play with other dogs and I can't wait for him to finally sniff the world! We are teaching him to sit, stay, come, drop and be on the leash. He is a quick learner and will be a smart dog.
Here is photo with the girls and him. The girl in the middle is my older daughter's friend. As I'm writing this the three of them are playing hide and seek in the yard and Jimi is running with them.
Much love from all of us!
Charl, Just wanted to send this cute pic of Ned and to say we are all very well and happy. I hope you and your family are having a great holiday.
Charl, I think Wanda is 1 years old today! What a wonderful dog. She is such an amazing family member and loves to hike!
How are you? Have a very Merry Christmas.
Best dog ever!! We love him so much.
We love this puppy!
Cathy and Bill
Aussie is so cuddly. The girls love him.
Hope your well,
I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to you and your daughter, Jena. You have changed my life. If you ask anyone that knows me, they would tell you that i am NOT a dog person, not even a pet person really. I am a physician, wife, and a busy mother of three who runs a tight ship. I grew up surrounded by animals- dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, fish, horses. Perhaps, I felt as though I had had enough. With that said, for many months, I have been contemplating a dog for my children. I feel strongly that children should grow up with a pet. It provides them with unconditional love, responsibility, and a sense of the natural order of the world itself. Knowing myself, however, i realized that this dog would need to fit into MY life. It would need to meet certain criteria. I started my internet search looking for dogs that were hypoallergenic and non-shedding. I came upon a list of approximately 10 breeds and investigated each and every one. However, none seemed to be the right match. Having reached exhaustion, I googled hypoallergenic dogs one last time. This time, I came upon google images and i saw the most beautiful dog. I quickly discovered the breed- Australian Labradoodle. From there, I learned everything I could about the breed from the Australian Labradoodle Club of America website. I called my mom. . . I've found our dog.
I immediately sent out emails to 5 different breeders throughout the United States. You were the first to respond. Charl, I will never forget our conversation. You interviewed me as extensively as I interviewed you. It was obvious, you were so much more than a breeder of dogs. You truly LOVED your dogs. I spoke to several other breeders, but none of them could possibly measure up. My decision was made. Our dog would come from you. You were unbelievably patient with me, answering all of my questions. We were wavering between litters - did we want a miniature or a medium? You went to the trouble to make me a video, showing me the size differences between a miniature, small medium and large medium - all done with your nephew - a child approximately my height (4'11") in order to give me some perspective. It was above and beyond what I could have ever anticipated.
In the end, we decided on a miniature, accelerating our time line by several weeks. You agreed to have our Hudson stay in your extended stay program while we enjoyed our previously scheduled summer vacation. With the weather being so hot in Dallas during the summer, we quickly realized that Hudson would be unable to fly cargo to us; we made arrangements for you daughter, Jena, to accompany him in the cabin and deliver him to us.
And then, 5 days before his arrival, I received the phone call from you - the one informing us that Hudson had been in a small mishap. It was unknown at the time whether he was seriously injured. You kept us informed every step of the way- even sending us texts and photos of Hudson from the vet's office. In the end, thankfully, he sustained only soft tissue injury and we chose to allow him time to recuperate. Throughout this ordeal, you made it very clear that it was our decision whether or not we wanted to take him. If we were at all uncomfortable, you had reserved us a puppy from the next litter. You were honest, forthright, and you handled the situation with the utmost grace. In the end, we had your vet conference with mine and the decision was made that Hudson had made a full recovery with no signs of lasting injury. Our puppy was coming home!
Two days later, Jena arrived with Hudson. The first true glimpse I had was of him sitting in the front seat of my car in Jena's lap. I reached over and he licked my fingers and tears came to my eyes. I was in love. In that moment, I became a dog person.
Jena spent the evening teaching us everything we needed to know about Hudson. Her fund of knowledge was invaluable. She is an excellent educator, as passionate about her dogs as you are. When I took her to the airport the next day, we were ready. She had trained us (and Hudson) well. This last week has been one of adventure. Hudson has become an immediate part of the family. He has ridden shotgun with me while driving afternoon carpool, become an avid lover of the piano (my middle son Ezra plays), and become the best foot warmer I have ever had. He is a true companion, wanting to be by my side for whatever the next day may bring. Charl, everything that Hudson is, he is because of the love, care and work that you put into your dogs before they go home. There are NO WORDS to express the gratitude that I have for you and Jena. You have given us one of the greatest gifts we could never have imagined. You have given us more than a dog. You have given us a new member of our family.
You have transformed me. Apparently, I was a closet dog person. . . who would have guessed??
With my love and gratitude,
Leslie (and the rest of the family - Marshall, Yossi, Ezra and Tzila)
Maggie is THE BEST!
Following our first week with Maggie, I felt a need to reach out and express to you how absolutely perfect she has been. I cannot count the number of times that I have expressed the words "We found the best breeder!" I would shout it from the rooftops, because I never dreamed a puppy could be this prepared for home life the moment she walked in our door.
Beyond being healthy and adorable, she is brilliant! She already knows to go to the backdoor and sit to go out (only accident we had was on day one). She knows (and usually follows) several commands -- sit, down, come here, look, go to your room (play crate). She really is attentive and seems a bit like an old soul in a puppy's body. Of course, she also loves to play and get loads of love and attention. Fetch is the newest game she's picking up on well. She's a joy to have in our lives and I could go on and on!
We would recommend you to anyone! Please share our gratitude with your family, who are all clearly a part of the village that started Maggie out on such strong footing.
Thank you, again.

Bentley is a very cool dude!
Charl, here is Jaxon after his first haircut. We were on El Paseo today.
Hi Chari and family, This picture was taken in our front yard in Snowmass. Moxxi, Elaine and Moxxi's pet bear. He's a very special dog, playful loving and very smart. He loves hiking and jumping into the water and getting wet. We are so in love with him, and thank you for giving us such a wonderful puppy.
Thinking of you, Elaine and Jerry Weiss
Hi Charl, Just wanted you to see Coco now that we shaved her. Her body color is now very light Tan. Still has dark head and paws and tail. Still so beautiful and full of herself.
The ball is not a plant. It is her fave and keeps it very close at all times. Love her. Told Ed she needs a playmate. She loves her little people cousins, thinks they are her litter mates. She has no fear of her 75 pound canine cousins. In their face wanting to play all the time.
Hope all is well in the desert.
Relaxing on the deck after their romp at the beach--our doggies' lives in beautiful SLO!
Hi Charl, Courtney, Anna and I wanted to send you an update about George and let you know how he is doing.
George is a WONDERFUL part of our family! He is the most well behaved dog and brings so much JOY.
He did very well in the Companion training class we attended last month and was easily the star pupil. :)
Attached is a photo we took of him today in the backyard. He sat there posed until we had the perfect shot.
Thanks again for our George!
Hello from Wanda!!
Charl: Hope you are well. Wanda is wonderful!
Zoey, Best Dog Ever
Hi From Zoey and her Family!
Zoey is wonderful. She's funny, loving, playful, gentle and just happy to be with us whatever our mood. She'll sit quietly at my feet while I work at the computer, and be ready to romp around with my boys the next minute. She's growing well and is proving to be very smart and eager to please in puppy classes. My older son is working with her instructor to prepare her to join the ranks of the therapy dogs at the local hospital as part of his community service project. We all love her and can't thank you enough for bringing her into our lives.
Our baby Charlee just passed his 1 year birthday, we have never been so happy with dog.. Not only is he part of our family he has stole our heart. He is loving, smart, active and has a personality that makes you laugh. Thank you so much for our precious gift, we are forever thankful!!

Boomer and his Happy Parents
Sorry for the wait, it is hard to get a 3 year old and a puppy to hold still for a picture :)
We are so happy with Penny! She has adjusted well to our family. She LOVES going to work with Shaun every day and is happy in her bed next to his desk. Teagan loves to play fetch with her and have her sit for a treat.

We just love Sadie so much. She is doing so well with her sits, downs, stays, walks, and comes.
He is such a good boy! I take him to the beach every weekend... He is a great little swimmer. Everyone says how amazing he looks. So smart and charasmatic.

Just love these dogs!
Rusty in the Garden
I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you again for this gorgeous, smart, loving addition to our household. Rusty has finished his training and he is soooo smart. The trainer trained me to train him and it took me longer to learn than it did my pup. Amazing what a little treat here and there will do!!!! Anyway, we can't tell you how much we are enjoying this fantastic guy….
This is Ruby, kissing Cookie, at the vet for her last shot. Everyone is in love with our little dog! She currently weighs 13 lbs and is an integral family member. We can't even imagine life without her. We are all in love. Thank you Charl! I saw photos of the next litter from Brooke. She is so excited.

Tessa is just one of the girls!
Lil Tessa joins Zoe for a wonderful life in Michigan!
Good morning Charl!
Busy weekend - we hosted a double baptism and reception yesterday for about 30 people! Overnight company started arriving on Friday afternoon and just left! Whew!
Wanted you to know that because we cannot believe how Little "Tessa" adapted to all the hustle and bustle. Not shy and was perfect! She does her business outside and sleeps through the night without a whimper. She was fantastic on the flight home plus the two hours that we had to travel to get from Chicago to our home. She is perfect!
We introduced her to Zoe on Friday afternoon. They just love each other - play constantly and like to nap together. Zoe is not jealous at all and I think she considers Lil Tessa a member of the family already.
Adding the second puppy was so much eaiser than the first one. They play together.....
Charlie joins his family for a walk, until he has all his shots!
Finn went for his first dip in a pool the other day, too. Our friends have a big yellow labradoodle that showed him the ropes and he was amazing! This weekend he hiked with us and he is the BEST for just hanging out. He is my constant companion and follows me everywhere—even into the bathroom! We are in the process of trying to buy a house with a large yard for Finn to play in. People are amazed when they see him walk so nicely on a leash and how gentle he is with kids. He is very popular at the dog park!! We feel totally lucky because he brings so much happiness to our lives.
Have a wonderful summer. I'll give you a Finny update again!
Hi Charl -
I hope everything is treating you well :-) It's been a while since I've given you a Nala update so I thought I would reach out and share just how great she has been doing lately!
We still absolutely adore her - she couldn't be sweeter or more lovable! I'm not even exaggerating when I say that EVERYONE who meets her loves her. People at work flock to her and she is definitely more popular that I am (I get "oh, you're Nala's mom! I love that pup!") - even though I've worked at petco for over 3 years now! Her green eyes are amazing and her fun-loving personality is infectious. I've never met a dog or human she doesn't instantly love and want to play with.
She comes to work with me every day and has made a ton of friends. She does great for most of the day but does get a little restless in the afternoon (3:30 is usually her breaking point). Luckily, I can take her out to the dog run usually and let her run around a little before plowing through the end of the day. Nala has become such a big part of my life that I featured her during a presentation I gave in January and people loved it. The few times she has slept away from home (at Steve's parents' house) has made our home feel empty - she has become such a big and important part in our lives.
Nala also just graduated Puppy Preschool! We were so proud of how well she did - I would say (without hesitation) that she was the best in the class. A very smart pup - and much more socialized than the other three puppies in the class too. People got a kick out of her energy and fun personality. I've attached her "graduation" photo - it really was a great moment!
I'll send along some more pictures shortly. Life has just been a little crazy for us as Nala will soon be a big sister (we are expecting in June) so there is a lot to prepare! We know she will be amazing and instantly gain a new best friend.
Hope all is well with you! I promise to keep in touch - we absolutely love Nala!
Kristin & Steve
Ok, we are totally in love over here, over the moon. EVERYONE is sooooo happy with cookie and she is such an amazing dog. She is sweet, mellow, friendly, smart, easy and adorable. All who meet her thinks she is fantastic and we really can't walk down the street without a ton of people asking us what kind of dog, where did we get her, her name, etc...She's a rockstar. I've given your website to at least 15 people.
Hi Charl, Just a little update to let you know Baxter is doing awesome!!! He's stolen our hearts. He's got so much personality. He's goofy, smart and stubborn.
Emily sends a happy hello!
I've been meaning to update you on Molly. She's wonderful! We have so enjoyed having her in our family the last 3 months. She's now sleeping in our room without the kennel and she is so well behaved. She loves Lake Arrowhead and being on the boat and walking on the trails. You wouldn't believe how many times I get stopped on walks with people amazed at how cute she is, although I'm sure it happens to you all the time also. Thanks for breeding such wonderful dogs!
Moxxi and his mom enjoying the snow.
Moxxi and his wonderful new family!
Here are some pictures from Bisou's first vacation to Catalina! She loved being on the boat!
I hope all is well with you. Just want to let you know how much we love having Morgan and to send a photo. I am sending friends your way, since EVERYONE loves Morgan. Several friends are looking for puppies and are considering Labradoodles.
I do wonder whether Morgan would remember you and his parents, so would love to re-connect sometime.
All is well in Michigan! Mark and I are in love with Zoe! She is so well trained and just adorable. Such a puppy though - loves to chew on things and tear up paper. She loves boat rides even though she is afraid of the ducks on the lake! So cute! I will keep you posted on her progress. Attached is a picture that was taken of us over Labor Day weekend. Zoe met our family and did wonderful with the grandchildren. They love her too!

Snowflower is already spreading so much light and love..
Today is very special day at our house. Annie Marie turns one year old today. We could not be more delighted with her. She has brought such joy to our home. She has certainly changed our hectic lives. She has taught us to relax, enjoy life and laugh at the little things ~ Like her digging in the water bowl!!!!
It is amazing how a tiny little puppy grows in our hearts as she grows into her own personality!! We adore her. Thank you to you and your family for allowing us to bring her to this "forever home." Our prayers are with you, your family and all your pups.

"Belle is truly a dream dog!"
Tucker & Ella
Hi Charl. Just wanted to let you know that Tucker is having a great summer. Can you guess what he loves to do?
This is how they spend most of the day. Can't complain! They are the best. We love them!
As you can see Ella prefers hanging out on the lounge chair! Enjoy your summer!
Mattie on Vacation
Good Morning, Charl--The girls are keeping us busy--they are really becoming great friends--Ellie is a little spitfire for sure! And Sadie encourages her! They are playing tug of war al ot--when Sadie wins she gives it back to Ellie so they can play some more! My friend loaned me a puppy pouch so carrying Ellie to the beach last night was more comfortable. Sadie, Tom and I are going for our usual walk and play on the beach this AM--will leave Ellie home to rest. Then Ellie and I spend some time out on our
road doing leash walking. We are going to teach her to use the doggie door today all by herself. Having the two of them certainly amps up the energy level around here--poor old Coby! We have our trainer coming over for a private lesson on Wednesday afternoon--to help us know better when we need to intervene and when we just let them all work it out! Its a circus!
Ellie & Sadie
Dear Charl – Here are some pictures of Abby with our grandchildren. They had so much fun playing with her. She has adapted very well to her new home and we just love her. She is a sweet puppy. We may have to get another one.
John and Dorothy
Sorry it has been so long between pictures. We are so blessed to have Bodie in our family. We love him tremendously. Everybody who sees him just adores him, we may be sending some people your way for puppies in the future. We hope you are well.
Matilda sends you puppy kisses
Mattie can fly!
May I move some of your plants?
Good thing she's cute, since she's still learning her good manners.
Were you calling me?
Chasing sticks is a favorite activity. Got it!
Lexi Goes Home
Kleo is doing well. Last night around 9:30 pm she went into her crate by herself and fell asleep! She was so good! And she even slept until 6 am when my parents got up this morning!
We have been having so much fun playing with her and holding her. She was a little disoriented last night by her new surrounding, but this morning she was much more comfortable and was bouncing around wanting to play.
I attached some photos we took last night. Enjoy!
Hi Charl--Sadie is just a dear puppy!! She follows me around all over, goes in and out to potty (sometimes on her own, sometimes with my encouragement), and is so mellow--you kept calling her "sweet" and she is certainly that!! We should have named her Hershey Kisses!! She does like chewing shoes and throw rugs so we have to be vigilent re that!
Tom wants to know when he gets "his" puppy--I keep telling him that I am sharing but he doesn't seem convinced! So, when is the next litter due--any ready around May? Sadie's size or maybe a bit smaller would be great! We would like red to apricot--doesn't matter whether a boy or a girl but so far Coby is tolerating a "sister" so maybe we should stick with that!
Although we had hoped to find a breeder closer to us, we are so happy that we decided to adopt our puppy from you. You definitely have a quality program--evidenced by the environment you provide for your puppies, your manner with them, how you select for placement and how they are cared for. So, for us, although there are breeders who are located closer to us, our doggies will start out at Shadow Mountain! Thank you very much for this great addition to our family!!
Hugs and kisses from Ella and Tucker
We had a quiet night, we are just going into the San Joaquin valley, all is
right with the world. He has stolen our hearts.
Trish, Rigdon, & Dudley
Im pretty sure this dog has always been here. No whimpering or whining. She lets us know when she needs to go potty. We are her family. So far she fits in perfectly. We are packing for mammoth right now and she is fine playing by herself in the kitchen. So far an amazing fit.
Just wanted you to see a current pictures of Ozzie. He is a fabulous boy who real loves everybody. He especially likes to run with the big dogs at the park. He tumbles and jumps up like a little cat. As everyone of your "family" says we have the most wonderful puppy. You have brought so many people joy. Have a wonderful holiday.
All the best,
Barbara and Michael
I am attaching a very belated promised picture of our boy Chewie and my 3 kids...this photo was just before Thanksgiving. (You may put this on your website if you wish:). The individual photo of him I am attaching was taken when he was just 3 1/2 months old.
Chewie is such a cherished member of our family....it seems like we have had him forever! He is thriving...at the vet 2 weeks ago he was 19 lbs. and I am sure he has gained another pound or two since then. He is gorgeous and perfect in every way. Everyone who meets him falls in love.
He loves the kids, loves to go on walks with us, and he even loved the snow when we brought him to our cabin for the first time over Thanksgiving! He LOVED it! I found a lovely trainer is a small class at the small community center near our house and he loves going to class. He absolutely loves my mom's dog and my sister's two dogs...he is so social.
The only thing he has ever been scared of is the garbage truck/recycling truck. I am trying to expose him to these slowly but truly that is the only thing he has ever been freaked out about.
A very Happy Holiday season to you and love from Chewie!
We are having so much fun. You are not going to believe this…We are not calling her Ginger. When we got her home, it just didn't fit..
Annie Marie Kallemeyn is her name ~ And she already seems to know it. Either she knows it, or we say it with such excitement she responds!!!
Attached is picture of Annie resting on the living floor after a wonderful outside play session. She is a delight. And, she is doing just wonderful at adjusting to her surroundings. What a darling she is!!
Another picture of her chewing a pink toy her Nana bought for her. She loves all of her toys. However, her favorite toy is something called a "Freezey Bone." I soak it in water and then freeze it. She loves that thing. She tosses it in the air, throws it, chases it, barks at it. It is hilarious. My comic relief. And, when it thaws out it gets soggy and she leaves it lay. I re-freeze it and then she plays more. So funny!!!
We were at the vet this morning. My goodness did she let out howls when they gave her the shot. Yikes, I cried…But she and I were just fine in the following seconds. And she has been just fine all day.
I hope you, your family and all the dogs are doing well.

Bodie in Utah
Hi Charl. Buddy is doing really well. He saw the vet and got a good report. He
weighs 9.5 pounds and goes again on Nov. 1. He has been for two short swims. The
kitty still thinks he is horrid but not as much as at first. We adore him.

Chewie joined his new family in San Francisco, CA
Chewie is doing great....everyone who meets him falls in love immediately. Here is a picture of Chewie in our yard and with Cal football (we are fans:)
Casey and Clancy are wonderful puppies, full of energy and life. They are a great addition to
our family. We are enjoying them tremendously.

Bud and Finn in Montana
Here are some photos of the twins loving up my friends and Libby learning to relax in an electric wheel chair.....
My first dog, Morgan, is a three-year-old Corgi, and it was for her that I wanted to bring another dog into the house. A friend for Morgan. Another dog to play with her and keep her company while I'm away. I could not have found a more perfect companion. Adluh, my little six-month-old labradoodle is Morgan's best friend. Sure, she drives Morgan a little crazy sometimes, but Morgan is the big sister and that's what little sisters are for. Morgan is very protective, and that comes in handy sometimes. Adluh is so friendly, she's never met a dog that she wasn't just sure would love her. Usually that works, and she even brings Morgan out of her aloof pose. But it's a cruel world sometimes, and incredibly there are some dogs who just don't want to make friends. Morgan steps in and calms the situation down. Adluh takes instant shelter behind her and the two of them are ready for all comers. I never worry about leaving them in the house for several hours at a time--they pull out their toys and play themselves into exhaustion, usually winding up on their pillows by the window in case visitors come and ready for the Big Welcome.
Scott and I wanted to let you know that Matilda is doing great now six months old. She is coming into her own personality and is very sweet and loving. Buddy is very protective of her and let's her eat and drink out of his bowls without a care. It has all worked out perfectly. Of course we spend a great deal of time being with them and nurturing them which makes a big difference for all of us. Hope everything is going well for you and your family.

When our adult children come home they want to know why there are more pictures on the Chewy in the house than of them." He's wonderful!

Just wanted to let you know that Kirby has settled in very nicely; he is mostly housebroken with only a couple of accidents. He has the best personality and is so cuddly. I can see why he was called Puppy Love. We just could not be happier with him. I have attached one of the pictures we have sent out to friends and family. Everyone is very impressed with him.
Bella is thriving at her home, with Patti and Dale Gribow.
Our beloved standard poodle had recently gone to heaven, when a furry bundle of fun, caught my eye while I in a meeting at La Quinta Coffee House. I literally left the meeting and greeted Willy, an Australian Labradoodle and his human parents. I 'fell head over heals' with the breed. As fate would have it, I was told that Charl had 3 puppies available for adoption.
Well, my hubby Dale and I hightailed it over to Shadow Mountain Labaradoodles the next day. The absolutely precious little girl jumped up on the chaise lounge next to me during the visit, and with her head between her paws longingly looked up at me. End of story.
Bella, Princess Bella, or Boo Bear as we affectionately all her, blesses us every day with puppy kisses, smiles, yes she does grin, and joyful play. Our family is in love forever and always! Thanks Debon and Tessa for letting us adopt your baby!
Here are some recent pics of Olive. I hope you like them. Olive is an incredible dog. She is sweet, smart and so eager to please. She has brought such love and laughter into our home. We feel so incredibly fortunate to have her. Olive's personality is a great match for our other dog, Shelby. Olive and Shelby became fast friends. We can't thank you enough for providing such caring and commitment to your Labradoodles. Olive is a fantastic example of your great work.
I tell Olive almost every day..."I need to write to your first mom and tell her how gorgeous you are!"
Charl, Olive is the most wonderful, happy, joyful, funny, affectionate, loving dog. I can't even find the words to tell you how much we love her and enjoy her. She gets more beautiful every day. We talk about you often and thank you for adding her to our family.
Just wanted to update you on one of your babies. Hope all is well with your family, and wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Quote "My wife (Doreen) saw one of Shadow Mountain's Labradoodles while vacationing in La Quinta, California. She came home and said she saw the cutest puppy in the world and had a brochure from Shadow Mountain. Doreen didn't stop talking about the puppy for the entire trip. Once home, Doreen told my daughter about the cute puppy. Mother's Day was the following week and I decided to give Doreen a special mother's day present. Her special puppy was given to her last weekend. According to her, it is the best present she's ever received. Puppy is very smart, very very personable and was house trained in a matter of days. Thank you Charl for brightening our lives with one of your puppies".
Larry and I wanted to share a couple of pictures of Bentley, I do not have many of him standing up because if he is not laying down he is on the move : ). You will not believe how big he is getting. He is a wonderful puppy and we love him, he is very playful and keeps us busy most of the time. I hope that the family's of his siblings are enjoying them as much as we are Bentley. I hope you enjoy, as you will see he is beautiful.
